Applied Cell Sciences has lots of experience and is very-well
equipped to grow large batches of adherent or suspension cells,
then process them into membranes.
Some of the cells we've grown include (CHO-K1, HEK293, NIH3t3, HepG2, neuroblastomas, cancer cell lines, HeLa, hybridomas, etc). Typically these cells express recombinant proteins including GPCRs, ion channels, transports or other drug discovery targets.
We are equipped to grow cells in 6,360 cm2 CellStacks, 500 cm2 plates, roller bottles or spinner flasks. Our capacity is huge.
Cells are harvested (usually enzyme-free) and processed into membranes using either your protocol or we can use our many years of experience to recommend a membrane prep protocol for you.
We homogenize cells either with traditional mechanical homogenization (e.g. Polytron) or by nitrogen decompression (Parr bomb), a gentle but highly effective method for producing high-quality membranes.
We will adjust the final membrane preparation to the protein concentration of your choice, and will dispense into pre-labeled vials according to your instructions. Vials will be frozen and shipped back to you on dry ice.
Ordering Information:
Applied Cell Sciences is equipped to grow up to 30 cell factories
that yield up to 2 grams of membrane protein in a single batch.
Protein concentration is adjusted to your specification and
aliquotted into labeled vials. Upon completion, vials are shipped
along with a detailed report. Typical turnaround is 3-5 weeks.
For ongoing projects, cell cryopreservation and storage are
available at no additional charge. To discuss requirements,
timing and pricing please call 240-453-6331 or email inquiries@appliedcellsci.com.
